Event Speakers

TJC also offers interpreting services for event speakers. Through over 20 years’ experience in translating and interpreting, TJC has built up an extensive network of scholars, researchers, cultural specialists, linguists and other related professionals in many parts of the world. This allows us to provide specialist assistance to speakers on a wide range of topics: industry, business, markets, education, medicine and pharmaceuticals among many others, to audiences ranging from corporate sponsors, to industry experts or NGOs.

Pre-event Preparation to Ensure the Best Service

Time-allowing, we request the text of the speech and other supporting materials in advance, so that our interpreter can familiarise him- or herself with the material. In addition to our interpreter’s existing knowledge and experience in your subject area, in-depth study of the content of the speech and preparation for any specialist terminology or technical terms is crucial in enabling him or her to provide the best adaptation possible.

Our interpreter will meet with the speaker in advance to review all supporting materials, such as illustrations, technical drawings, slides and transparencies. Subtle nuances of presentation, such as the required pace of delivery and the degree of interaction between speaker and audience, will also be included in the discussion, as these factors play an important role in effective interpretation of the speaker’s work. Our interpreter will also rehearse the material with the speaker present, to identify and eliminate any potential technical or procedural problems before the speech is delivered.

Specialist Speakers and Research Material

TJC also undertakes research work on request, when support is required with specific subjectsspecific subjects. We understand that sometimes tight deadlines or unexpected circumstances mean our client may need extra assistance from us in preparing for an event. With sufficient notice, our speakers can prepare briefings and summaries in your desired subject area.

In addition to our considerable expertise in interpreting and translating, we can also assist with event organisation and sourcing speakers.
